Wow… I can’t believe how fast 30 days has gone by. We started out in Los Angeles, and made our way through our first Midwest tour. We had so many crazy times on this tour, and I can’t wait to be on the road again in May. Let’s see, on tour I’ve learned that I don’t do well with ice. I have terrible coordination on dry land …but I have the coordination of a very very drunk person on ice. I fell multiple times, but never on my face so it’s all good! David (my violinist) ate shit getting out of the van once, and Mike (my drummer) fell really hard in front of a hotel… which was hilarious… Wish we could have gotten those on the flip cam. That would have been amazing. My iPhone caught on FIRE for no reason, literally no one knows how that happened, and David’s laptop caught on fire as well, so that was pretty interesting. We played some really amazing shows. I got to play at The Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville with my dear friend James Slater. We wrote “Beautiful Day,” “Every Heart” and “Mama” together and he is just amazing. He opened the show and I cried not once, but twice during his set. His songwriting is brilliant and his lyrics just kill me. He’s so inspiring and it was SO nice to see him. I should be out in Nashville sometime in April to write with him so we’ll have more Haze/Slater songs very soon! We also got to play at SXSW in Austin where we shared a one bedroom apartment with Frank and Derrel. They are an LA based band, and one of the members is Brandy Cyrus (Miley Cyrus’ Sister) so that was interesting. We had 10 people sharing a one bedroom apartment with one bathroom. Cold showers are something I definitely got used to on this tour. We saw a band at SXSW called Neon Trees and they were amazing. Everyone must check them out. That was one of the best rock shows I’ve ever seen, and I got to meet some of the guys from the band and they were so nice. They are gonna be HUGE one day so check them out. I’m really sad that the tour is over, I miss my band and Svenn (Our touring van…it started out as The Shine Van and it’s name is now Svenn). Thank you to everyone who came out to our shows and supported us. We hope to see you very very soon! We’ll be back when the weather is a little bit nicer… I promise
