Sundance Adventures

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

Well this year was my first year at Sundance and it was amazing. Being in Park City is like living in a beautiful snow globe. The houses are adorable, the snow was always falling, it looked just perfect. I didn’t know exactly what to pack or what to expect. I brought pumps and dresses with tights, but Park City was way too cold for that, so I was basically stuck in the same outfit everyday! I guess I just thought that the weather doesn’t change outside of Southern California… even if it is snowing! While I was packing, my mom kept trying to stuff Dumb and Dumber looking snow clothes in my bag, but there was no way I was going to wear that stuff. I’ve always been stubborn so my mom’s used to it, and 80’s snow clothes just isn’t the look for me :) We got stuck in a snow storm, I got lots of fun swag and I got to play shows with Tyler and Hilton and Matt Scannell from Vertical Horizon. I also got altitude sickness, but hey I grew up at the beach and my body can’t handle altitude at all. All in all, Sundance was really fun, next year I’ll be sure to buy some cute snow clothes and I’ll make sure I make time for sledding and snowball fights!

Opening for A Fine Frenzy

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Ooo I am so excited. I just found out that I’m opening for A Fine Frenzy. “Goodbye My Almost Lover” is one of my favorites. I seriously love depressing break up songs more than anything. Is that bad?? We’re playing at The Dakota Lounge Monday, December 14th at 7 pm. I can’t wait. Shawn Hlookoff and Green River Ordinance are also on the show so it should be a good one. Hopefully I’ll see you there!

Tour has been Cancelled

Monday, December 7th, 2009

I am so sad to say that I am already back home in California. I miss the East Coast already. Unfortunately, Ernie Halter had to go home because his mother is in the hospital, and family always comes first. Hopefully we’ll be able to reschedule the tour and put together some more shows next year. We are all so sorry about this, but I promise I’ll make it up to you and be in your town soon :)

Tour Support Partayyy

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Hey Party People! Getting excited for Thanksgiving? I know I am! That turkey and stuffing is calling my name already! So, on December 1st, I’m hitting the road and heading to the East coast with Ernie Halter, but before I go, I wanted to throw a party because you know I’m gonna miss you way too much while I’m gone. So, we are going to put on an acoustic performance at The Orsini in Los Angeles. I’m gonna provide food and drinks and good times, but in return, I’ll be asking for donations to help out with touring expenses. Our goal is to raise $800, so every little bit helps. We’ll be using this money for food, gas and crappy hotels :) The party is on Sunday, November 29th, it starts at 6 pm and goes til whenever. I really hope you can come so I can see you one last time before I leave.

The Orsini (The party will be going down in the Boardroom)
550 N. Figueroa
Los Angeles, CA 90012

There’s street parking if you can find it, and a parking structure is attached to The Orsini on E. Cesar Chavez.

Happy Holidays!

CMJ Showcase in New York

Monday, October 26th, 2009

I miss New York already. That city is so amazing and the pizza is killer… I would know, I basically had a slice for every meal.  Yummmy! The band and I stayed in the smallest hotel room possible. When you walk in, there’s a bunk bed to your left and basically 2 feet of room to your right and that’s it. No bathroom, just a bunk bed and a mirror. The bathrooms/showers were down the hall. But I was able to see the Statue of Liberty from the public bathroom, so I won’t complain too much. Haha. That hotel room was probably the size of my bathroom in my small LA apartment. Geez. We showcased for the CMJ conference, the show was great and we made lots of new friends that are gonna help promote my new album, My Personal Sky, coming out November 3rd :) After the show we went to Ernie Halter and Andrew Hoover’s show. It was so nice to watch them play, they are truly amazing and their vocals are top notch. I’m going on tour with Ernie in December so it was great to hang out with him and his fans. After the show, I kidnapped Andrew Hoover and made him come to Time Square with me and the rest of the band where we stayed out til 6 am. I was the first person in Starbucks when it opened at 5 am. So yeah, that city really does not sleep. I can’t wait to get back out there in December. I’ve always wanted to be in NYC during the holidays :) If you’re on the east coast, check out the tour dates. Hopefully I’ll be playing near you in December!

Adventures in Ohio

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Nick and I had so much fun in Ohio. First of all, we played at a venue called the Bandersnatch, but locals call it The Snatch. It was also located in Licking County. Seriously, how rediculous is that. It was BANANAS! We made lots of new friends and had the best Chai Tea Lattes ever. We also tried something called a Snagel, it’s a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese and brown sugar. Oh my word, it was heaven… Nick got the one with peanut butter. Gross. I definitely made the right decision when it came to Snagels. I’m starting to become more and more in love with small towns. Living in Los Angeles is great, but the trees don’t change color for fall and the people from these small towns are so genuine and kind. I love it. Well I hope I’ll be back in Ohio soon! I’m looking forward to touring with Ernie Halter in December! Check out the dates! Hopefully we’ll be at a city near you!

Ohioooo

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Good Morning Everyone! Just to let you know, waking up in Ohio is much colder than waking up in LA. I need to purchase some warmer pajamas! So Nick (My guitar player) and I are playing at The Denison University in Granville, Ohio tonight, and were pretty darn excited for a couple reasons. One, I love playing colleges. They are always the most fun, and I love making new friends with the students. Two, this is my first time in Ohio, so today I’m going exploring. I hope you all have a wonderful day and I’ll let you know how the show goes/about my adventures in freezing Ohio.

Show at The Roxy Oct. 4th with Tina Dico

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

Hey Everyone! I hope all is well! The band just got back from our first two week tour on the East Coast. We got a touring van named Svenn, and we also got our first speeding ticket on the road. That didn’t take long. We had so much fun playing colleges, visiting cool towns and playing with some of my favorite acts like Tyrone Wells, Tony Lucca and Ernie Halter.

We are all back home now, and we’re playing at The Roxy this Sunday with Tina Dico. If you don’t have plans for Sundee than you should come out! Tina Dico is amazing, The Roxy is all ages, and we’ll be playing some new songs from my album, My Personal Sky, out November 3rd. Doors open at 7:30, and we play at 9:00. I hope to see you there!

Hi east coast friends!

The band is hitting the road in a couple of weeks and I would love your help and participation, and I want there to be something in it for you.

If you post my “Sara Haze on Tour” poster page as your default image for myspace from now until we play near you in a couple of weeks, I will put you on my top friends list, as well as put you on the guest list FOR FREE to the show!

All you have to do is upload the Sara Haze on Tour photo (my main mysapce image) and upload it to your myspace, make it your default, put me in your top friends and shoot me a message here on myspace and I’ll be sure to put you in the top friends list.

My goal is to have ALL 50 Top Friends slots filled with people with the Sara Haze on Tour poster as their default. Fair enough? :)

I look forward to seeing you soon.

You can find a list of all the dates that we are doing on my homepage, so please help spread the word by telling all of your friends / family in these areas. I would love to come back, and come back often to a town near you.
